Sòlás’ story

Sòlás Burke-Lalgee, a Bay Area native from an art-based family, attended the School of the Arts in San Francisco, the Oakland Youth Chorus, and graduated from Berklee College of Music. Early in his career, he received the Presidential Scholar of the Arts Award and multiple honors from the Society of Singers, The GRAMMY Foundation, and the Young Arts Program.

Lalgee’s performance credits include the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, West Coast Opera, Oakland Symphony, Jazz Mafia, and collaborations with artists like Ledisi, Zendaya Coleman, and Goapele. He also arranged the background vocals for the theme song of Homeroom, a documentary written and performed by Goapele.

As a vocal instructor with over 20 years of experience, including more than 10 years at the Oakland School for the Arts, Lalgee is dedicated to helping singers find their true voice and reach new creative heights. He aspires to be an advocate and resource for the world of voice.
